  1.             T H E   J I H A D   O F   C H A O S

  3. An exercise of the Sword, to complement the work of the
  4. Wand in Chaos Monasticism.
  5.  
  6.     Candidates may elect to perform the Jihad (Holy War)
  7. for any period of their own choosing and to adopt the title
  8. "Æonic Warrior" for the duration of their Jihad.  Jihad is
  9. performed for several purposes:
  10.  
  11. 1) To test, expand, and sharpen personal magical skills.
  12. 2) As an experiment in controlled fanaticism.
  13. 3) To Immanentize the Eschaton, the bringing-forth of the
  14.    Pandæmonæon.
  15. 4) To attack regressive or anti-æonic targets.
  16.  
  17.     Candidates may elect to perform Jihad in three modes;
  18. the Lesser, Greater, or the Extreme.  At all times when on
  19. Jihad an Æonic Warrior bears a magical dagger.  This weapon
  20. may be carried in a concealed fashion, and the warrior
  21. should also sleep with it.  The dagger functions as a
  22. constant reminder of the work in hand and may also find
  23. application in magical combat.  The word "dagger" may be
  24. loosely interpreted to include instruments which would
  25. usually be classed as swords if desired, but the instrument
  26. should at least be of a size to be useful in physical
  27. combat.  Complete celibacy is to be maintained throughout
  28. Jihad.  All sexual activities and thoughts should be
  29. vigorously suppressed and the resulting tensions and
  30. energies directed towards the martial gnosis of the
  31. Warrior.  Candidates may choose to supplement the formal
  32. duties of their Jihad with such pleasures and privations as
  33. sleeping on a hard surface, eating a limited diet of high
  34. protein foods and taking vigorous exercise daily.

  36.                     Lesser Jihad Duties
  37.  
  38. 1) Carry a Magical Dagger at all times.
  39. 2) Complete celibacy.
  40. 3) Perform the Vortex Rite upon awakening and upon
  41.    retiring.  One performance should be preceded by the
  42.    recitation of a Chaoist Catechism and be performed for
  43.    the Immanentization of the Eschaton.  The other should
  44.    be used to Chaobolt a suitable target.

  47.                     Greater Jihad Duties

  49. 4) Perform the Lesser Jihad Duties.
  50. 5) Perform a third Vortex Rite to Chaobolt a second target.

  55. 6) Perform the Greater Jihad Duties (to include the
  56.    Lesser).
  57. 7) Break sleep midway through to perform a full Entropy or
  58.    Combat Magic Ritual against a selected target.

  62.     Jihad begins with an oath taken over the dagger which
  63. specifies the mode of Jihad, its duration and target(s) to
  64. be attacked.  The dagger may afterwards be engraved with
  65. numbers denoting mode and duration as with the wand in
  66. Monasticism or else destroyed in the case of failure.

  68.     Targets may be Chaobolted at the climax of the Vortex
  69. Rite either by the usual Barbaric Incantation procedure or
  70. by the visualization of an astral Chaobolt hurled into the
  71. Vortex.

  73.     A Chaobolt consists of a long sharp triangular pyramid
  74. with a sigil on the triangular base which is visualized as
  75. diminishing in size as it recedes away from the thrower,
  76. point first.
